Of all the places in the world,
There Is Only One Omaha, NE.

OMAHA!

What better way to learn about Omaha than to ask the people who actually live here?

We asked our office to share their favorite things about Omaha.

This is what they had to say!

It’s often hard to find a place that you want to call home, especially when you are moving from another state. When Eric, our branch manager, and his wife Coni first moved here, they were impressed by the utter friendliness — strangers would open the door for you, say hello when you just walk by them on a sidewalk, or even just strike up a conversation in line while checking out at the store. It was both comforting, and made them feel secure at the same time.

Fast forward several years to when they began raising their pets and kids. Neighbors would happily offer to let out their new puppy if they couldn’t make it home in time. They also had their hands full with the arrival of triplets. Coni remembers that, when it was cold outside, people at their gym would help her bundle their triplets and load them up. She never had to ask for help; people would just step up and do the right thing out of the kindness of their hearts. Knowing and experiencing this kindness makes you aware of your surroundings, and you can’t help but to continue to pay it forward and…

…keep Omaha kind!

The food and night life options are what intrigues Jami, our operations manager.

The number of restaurants we have in Omaha is staggering. From international fare to down-home cooking, you can find it all here. In 2014, we even earned a spot on Top 10 Foodies Cities! The nightlife and music scene is second to none. From the Old Market to the Blackstone District to Benson, there is a drinking establishment to meet anyone’s criteria! You can also see amazing artists and bands at venues such as The Slowdown and The Waiting Room.

Jennifer, our marketing manager, loves visiting all the breweries in the area.

There are upwards of 20 different breweries in Omaha, most of them native to the area. Whether you enjoy a light ale, a lager, a dark stout, or even a sour, Omaha is gaining national recognition as a top beer city. Not to be outdone, we have several wineries in the area, with spectacular views to go along with their fabulous vino!

Although not technically in Omaha, she also loves making the short drive to Lincoln to enjoy some Husker football and tailgating in the fall! We bleed Husker red in Nebraska!

Lindsay loves the greatest ‘Show on Dirt’!

The College World Series and the camaraderie that’s comes with it is what Lindsay, one of our mortgage coordinators, looks forward to every year! It’s the greatest ‘Show on Dirt’ where you can enjoy tailgating with fans from across the country, watching the best in college baseball and creating lasting memories with your friends and family.

Another of her favorites is our top rated Henry Doorly Zoo. It was proclaimed the ‘world’s best zoo’ by TripAdvisor in 2014. From the Leid Jungle to the Desert Dome to the Scott Kingdom of the Seas Aquarium – there is something for everyone – year round!

Rachel had Omaha hesitations.

Rachel, one of our loan officers, grew up in a small rural community where everyone knew your name. She was hesitant about moving to Omaha, because she wondered who on earth would want to live in Nebraska. She made the leap and moved here 14 years ago and fell in love with it.

It’s big city with a small town feeling. She found her second family here. It’s no surprise, since everyone treats you like family! There is so much culture and life here, and it’s constantly changing.

Rachel and her family enjoy all the parks, fishing, camping, and sites in the area – they are absolutely breathtaking. Her favorite part is being able to get to the back roads in mere minutes to remind her of home. It’s simply a great place to raise a family.
